The Second Annual Unity In Design event offers three days of showroom access, CEU accredited speakers, networking and social events, and the first DPNC Tradeshow. Highlights of the event includes:

Friday February 19: 9-10 a.m. The presentation will focus on the various applications and benefits of natural stone products for interior and exterior use. Discover and evaluate natural stone as a green building material and how it can contribute to LEED points. .1CEU.

"Understanding Wood and Wood Furniture” 
This hands on course explores the transformation of wood from the forest to furniture, including unique properties of wood and species of wood veneers. Includes cutting methods to achieve different patterns and lay-up techniques; wood solids characteristics and where used; and construction methods and finishing techniques. .1CEU.

"Designing for the Future of the Planet"
Designers will learn what they can do for their customer and the planet by attending this informative presentation about how the latest advancements in the use of recycled materials in the plumbing industry will play an important role in the quest for sustainability. The world's water crisis is not improving so it is still of great concern to Designers to constantly be aware of water usage and the saving of not only the fresh water supply, but financial savings your clients can achieve.

The event concludes with the 1st Annual DPNC Trade Show on Saturday, February 20. The focus of the trade show is residential commercial and contract design. Each professional organization has invited its members to attend this event. A raffle will take place during the Saturday Trade Show with gifts including furniture, hotel nights, and more.

During a cocktail reception on Friday, January 19, at Market Square, the High Point Design Center will award a $1,000.00 scholarship to an outstanding student majoring in interior design. Also, the DPNC Tradeshow on Saturday will feature a Career Corner where experienced designers will be available to mentor students or new designers on different aspects of the design field and career opportunities.
